We are lucky enough to have one of the north western Mongolia’s best kept secrets our back door, the Eg and its tributaries. It is the most picturesque river of our northwest region with the variety and number of pools for fishing. This scenic river provides you with drift boat and wade-walk opportunities where the Taimen can be targeted using float fishing and spinning fishing. The Taimen is the main predator of them all and they’re big, they’re strong, and they’ll bust your tackle if you’re under equipped.
Nestled in a secluded spot on the bank of the Eg River, this isolated location has no road access and highly required a special permission along with fishing permit. Difficult access means no crowds. Taimen fishing in our location is absolutely incredible and will challenge anglers of any skill.
When fishing with us, you will get a chance to fish a piece of this famous river, its prolific tributaries, and several other rivers. Why the taimen fishery is so unique? Part of the answer is that the natural conditions are very favorable in the Eg basin area. In addition to the upriver taimen populations, there are also lots of mid-sized lenoks, grayling and other native fish species. All that have visited the taimen areas have been very much impressed by the quality of the fishing. Both fish size and numbers are almost incredible. Very strong tippets and reels with high quality drag systems are necessary to successfully land a taimen. Catch and release is strongly recommended for all taimen.

We run extraordinary taimen fishing trip on the Eg river with several departure dates available June –October each year. A price listed below is per person, based on double occupancy, and quoted in US dollars.
